The laughter club dog was missing today. I see him every morning wagging his tail with gay abandon as the members- most of them in the evenings of their lives- raise their hands...one, two, three HA, HA, HA, HAAA---
He was not even sitting with a few members still chatting on benches in the park, looking serious and tired after their forced laughing exercises. Every morning, the dog would dutifully take his place as the members formed a half circle and begin their routine. Although he could not laugh (thank God! If they could really laugh, all the dogs would be laughing the whole day and night recalling the stupid things their masters do), he would participate wagging his tail. The members initially tried to shoo him away but he would dismiss the suggestion and stay put in the half circle. May be he was bored of the same routine today and decided to explore something better.
Its pity people have to join laughter clubs and force themselves to laugh. Mirza Express- who makes people laugh told me couple of years ago, after his programme in Delhi how once he did not know what to do when members of a laughter club started laughing loudly when he reached at their function as chief guest. "Its our way to welcome guests", President of the club had told him, still laughing......Wonder if Mirza could make his laughing guests laugh more!
Well, here he was a week later! Relaxed but alert after the morning session as older members of the laughters club linger on and chat on benches.
